How does Pescheck protect my data?
We process your data under a Dutch Ministry of Justice POB licence and ISO 27001 certification, with encryption in transit and at rest and EU-only storage.
In short: Your data is processed under a Dutch Ministry of Justice POB licence and protected by ISO 27001 certification. It is encrypted, stored in the EU, and never sold or shared outside the screening.
Certification and licensing
- POB licence #1551 from the Dutch Ministry of Justice (Justis), the licence required to perform background screening in the Netherlands
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the global standard for information security management
- PBSA membership (Professional Background Screening Association), the industry body for screening best practice
- GDPR compliant, with independent audits to back it up

What this means for you
- Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Screening data is processed within the European Economic Area only (per our processing agreement)
- It is processed solely for the screening you have consented to
- It is never used for marketing, never sold to third parties, never used to train machine learning models
- Access is limited to authorised Pescheck staff and the organisation that requested the screening
- Pescheck staff have signed confidentiality declarations
We work with carefully selected sub-processors under data processing agreements. The current list is published in the Trust Centre.
