In short: Your data is processed under a Dutch Ministry of Justice POB licence and protected by ISO 27001 certification. It is encrypted, stored in the EU, and never sold or shared outside the screening.

Certification and licensing

  • POB licence #1551 from the Dutch Ministry of Justice (Justis), the licence required to perform background screening in the Netherlands
  • ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the global standard for information security management
  • PBSA membership (Professional Background Screening Association), the industry body for screening best practice
  • GDPR compliant, with independent audits to back it up

Our full Technical and Organisational Measures (TOMs) are documented in the Pescheck Trust Centre.

What this means for you

  • Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Screening data is processed within the European Economic Area only (per our processing agreement)
  • It is processed solely for the screening you have consented to
  • It is never used for marketing, never sold to third parties, never used to train machine learning models
  • Access is limited to authorised Pescheck staff and the organisation that requested the screening
  • Pescheck staff have signed confidentiality declarations

We work with carefully selected sub-processors under data processing agreements. The current list is published in the Trust Centre.
