  • What is a background check?

    A background check refers to the process of verifying the accuracy of the information provided by an individual. The background check may include verification of the individual’s criminal history, employment history, credit history, and/or educational background. Background checks are commonly used by organizations to screen job applicants, but they can also be used for other purposes such as screening volunteers or tenants.

  • How to do a background check?

    There are a few different ways to perform a background check. The first is to use a background screening service like PESCHECK. We will gather information from public records and databases to create a report on the person you’re interested in. We gather all the information that is necessary to create a comprehensive report of the candidate, always with the consent of the person/candidate.

    The second way is to do it by yourself. This requires more work, but it can be cheaper and you may be able to get more detailed information. To do this, start by searching online for public records and create a report by yourself. You can also contact the person’s previous employers and references to get more information.

  • What does a background check show?

    The scope of a background check will vary depending on the purpose for which it is being conducted, but it may include checking criminal records, employment history, credit reports, and social media profiles (adverse media), sanction and pep lists, ID check etc.

  • How long does a background check take?

    The length of time that a background check takes will vary depending on the type of check being conducted and the resources available. Because PESCHECK has access to +1000 databases around the world, we can often perform international background checks from minutes up to a few working days.

    For example, an ID check is immediate completed, while a more comprehensive background screening such as a diploma/qualification verification could take a few business days.

  • Do arrests show up on background check?

    When an individual is arrested, their personal information is entered into a police database. This includes their name, date of birth, and other identifying information. As a result, arrests can show up on background checks. In certain cases we only search for criminal convictions, criminal records or certificate of conducts, not arrests. In that case arrest won’t show up in our background checks.
