Can I see the final report?

Yes, under GDPR you have the right to a copy of your own background screening report. Here are the two ways to get one.

Last updated

In short: Yes. The organisation that requested your screening gets the report first, but you have the legal right to a copy at any time. Ask them directly, or submit a data access request to us.

How to get a copy

There are two paths:

1. Ask the requesting organisation

The organisation that ordered your screening has the complete report. They can share it with you in whichever way works for them (email, secure download, in-person review). This is usually the fastest path.

If you have not yet heard about your results, it is reasonable to ask. You might say:

“Could you please share a copy of the Pescheck screening report you received? I would like to have it for my records.”

Most organisations will share without issue.

2. Submit a data access request to Pescheck

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access any personal data we hold about you. To request your report directly from us:

  1. Email our Privacy Officer at [email protected] (or use our support form and mention “data access request” in your message)
  2. Provide the email address you used during the screening
  3. Confirm your identity (we will guide you through this)

We respond within one month as required by GDPR. There is no charge.

What you get

The report contains:

  • Which checks were run
  • The factual outcome of each check
  • The date the screening completed
  • The organisation that requested it

It does not contain hiring recommendations or scores, we never make those.

What you can do with it

The report is yours to keep. You can:

  • Save it for your records
  • Share it with future employers if you want to shorten their hiring process
  • Use it to support an appeal if a hiring decision was based on a result you believe is inaccurate
  • Use it to exercise your right to correction if anything is wrong

If you believe a finding is incorrect, contact us first and we will investigate. We take data accuracy seriously and will correct anything that is verifiably wrong.
