How do I check the status of my screening?

If you've been asked to complete a screening and want to know where it stands, here is how to check and what each status means.

Last updated

In short: Your screening status is visible in the secure link you received by email. If you have lost the link, contact our support team and we will resend it.

Where to find your status

When the organisation asked us to screen you, we sent you a secure email link. That link takes you to your personal screening page, which shows:

  • Which checks are being run
  • Which steps you still need to complete (e.g. uploading an ID, signing a consent, providing a reference)
  • The current status of each check
  • An estimated completion time

You can return to that link at any time during the screening.

Common statuses and what they mean

StatusMeaning
Awaiting your actionSomething is waiting on you, upload a document, fill in a form, or sign
In progressWe are verifying with a registry, employer, or referee
Pending reviewWe have results, and our team is reviewing them for completeness
CompleteAll checks have finished and results have been sent to the requesting organisation
On holdSomething requires clarification, we will have contacted you separately

If your screening is stuck

Screenings can pause if:

  • A document you uploaded did not pass quality checks (e.g. a passport scan was blurry)
  • A reference is not responding to our outreach
  • A foreign registry is temporarily offline
  • Our team needs an additional piece of information

In all these cases we will email you. Check your inbox, including spam, for messages from [email protected] (and the notifications-only sender [email protected]).

If you have not heard from us and the status has not changed in several days, contact support and reference the email address you used during the screening.

When the screening completes

Once finished, results go directly to the organisation that requested the screening. Read about what happens next.
