Where screening fits in a DATEV workflow
DATEV is a payroll system, not a recruiting tool. A person is set up in DATEV once the hiring decision has been made and the contract is agreed. That is also the moment many employers want a background check finished: before the first working day, or before the new employee gets access to money, customers or sensitive data. Screening can also apply to existing employees who move into a role with stricter requirements, or who need periodic re-screening.
Without an integration, HR copies the employee's name, email address and role from DATEV or from the payroll file into a separate screening tool. With the integration, the screening starts from employee data that is already in DATEV.

Pescheck connects with DATEV through Kombo, an integration platform for HR and payroll software. The connection is authorised once by whoever administers your DATEV payroll, which can be your own team or your tax adviser. In Pescheck you choose which checks belong to which roles, such as ID verification, criminal record (Führungszeugnis), diploma, references or employment history, and our integration team helps you match this to your setup.
